Right, I suppose I should mention ghosts, you'll probably bump into a few of them during your time here (or I guess the proper phrase would be walk through them?). Ghosts are the emotional and spiritual manifestation of someone who has died but who was not meant to die at that time. Normally these souls would go to the Netherworld until they're ready but sometimes they leak out, especially the ones from Feildnoor for some reason. This apparently greatly annoys the Nether Watchers but I'm sure they won't mind... right?

 

Ghosts themselves don't have any physical matter, they are predominantly made up of emotional and magical energy. Because of this they aren't bound to our normal worldly rules. For example, most ghosts get around by means of flight. They can do this because they are weightless and aren't affected by winds unless they believe or imagine themselves to be. In fact most of what ghosts can do is based on the power of their imagination. This is why you'll see some ghosts wearing clothes despite them having no physical form. This lack of a physical form is also why they have a tendency to float through objects rather than hitting them. Not even the power of imagination can overcome their lack of a physical form.

Nausians do tend to stereotype ghosts as bad luck, possibly because of the fact that these people shouldn't have died yet, or just because Nausians are a superstitious bunch in general. Either way if you ever see a ghost in Nausia try not to point it out or make a fuss, it probably has a hard enough time getting around with the locals screeching at it, it doesn't need tourists doing the same!
